We are Going Public

Erin and I wanted everyone of you to know that we are going to be parents for the first time.

Please keep Erin and I in your prayers as we go through this process and as we raise our first born.

The road to this day has been long and difficult. For those of you who don't know, we lost our first one several months ago. This was very hard on both of us. I am happy to report that we went last Thursday and saw our baby and heard the heartbeat. Please pray that everything will go as normal as possible. WE thank God daily for what he is doing in our lives and can not wait for this little one to get here.

Refreshed and Renewed

We got back yesterday from one of the most productive staff retreats that I have been on since coming on staff here at Rock Springs. We planned the calender for the year, ate, planned some more, ate, planned some more, and ate some more. It was good to get away. One thing I did realize was that I am totally addicted to the Internet. We went off to a place where there was no Internet, no cell phone service, and the nearest place to eat was 30 minutes away. It was nice for a change.

Now its back to the every day grind of the ministry. While up there one thing came to mind. Why do we do what we do? For a pay check, self gratification, to have something to do, or maybe its just to support our families. None the less its a question that we should ask our selves daily. We do what we do because its what God has called us to do. Its the joy of seeing boys and girls come to know Christ for the very first time, its the joy of seeing adults find their place in ministry, and its the joy of knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of others. The before mentioned things are good, but that's not why I do what I do. Its the joy of knowing that I am doing exactly what God has called me to at this point in my life.

Prayer Request- Last night a bus carrying children from Lakeview Baptist Church in Pickens, SC had a bad wreck. From what I know there were several children that were injured and in bad shape. Please join me as we pray for all involved in this tragic event.

Snow

Every kids wish has come true. NO SCHOOL because of snow.
I must say that last night was a great night.

Let me recap.

Snow- 3-5 inches and its still on the ground.
Basketball- both Duke and USC won last night.
American Idol- Wow. This show is addicting. If you have not watched the last two nights then you need to go to youtube, type in American Idol 08, and laugh your head off.

I am now headed home to spend time with my wife and enjoy the snow.

Headed to Bilo

Ok maybe not. But you know how we get when they mention the "s" word. From what all the weather people say is that when we wake up tomorrow morning the ground will be white and frozen things fallen from the sky.

As you know it hardly ever does anything around here so when they talk about the "s" word everyone gets excited.

Today more of my students will pray more than they ever have. My wife will be praying, and all the teachers will be praying. They will be praying the famous Christmas song that we all know so well.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!!!!!

Sickness

I hate being sick. Today I am finally over it. I would rather be hit by a truck (ok maybe not) then be sick.

With that being said, it's a great day. I thought about doing a "Live From" segment today during staff meeting but have since passed on that idea.

Football season is now over (I know my wife is happy). Now its on to basketball (again know my wife is happy). What does this mean, well I now pull for two teams Duke & the Gamecocks. That's right I am a die hard Duke fan. Before you get the idea that I only pull for them because they are good let me remind you that since 1990 I have loved the blue and white. From the days of Bobby Hurley to Grant Hill to Chris Collins to Johnny Dawkins to Coach K himself.

On the Gamecock basketball front. Well lets just say, we are waiting for baseball season.

New Year

Well its 2008. I wonder if this year will go by as quick as last year. Who knows what will happen this year!!! All we know is that its here.

I wish I had more to write about at this time, but all I can think about is supper cooking in the kitchen. So that's where I am headed. TO EAT!!!
