Update

Just to update you on the week that is and has been. The good news is that all my parts that I need to fix my car will be covered under my warranty. The bad news is I still don't have my car. So what does that mean. Well take a look and see for yourself. So if you see me coming just throw your hand up and wave.

Great Start

Well this week has started off just great.

To wrap up the weekend.
1. I didn't eat anything crazy at the Critter Cook. Don't know why, I just didn't.
2. I didn't even open the Leadership book I was going to start. Again don't know why I just didn't.
3. It was one long weekend. With Erin gone and all that I had to do at church, it made for one long weekend.

Back to the week at hand. It all started yesterday morning when I got in the car. Turn the key and the car struggles to start. My first thought is I need to get a new battery. Surly I can drive another day or two right. Wrong!!! It did start leaving work, but when Erin and I went to go eat last night nothing.

So what does Bright Head do and I quote "Lets see if it is the battery by rolling the window down." Erin's response "Not sure you should do that." SHE WAS RIGHT.

By the time I go to bed last night I have a new battery in the car, a new fuse switch, and 3 windows that want roll up. How you ask? Glad you did. Seems like Mr. Bright Head doesn't know how to jump his car off. I hooked the cables up to the fuse box instead of the battery. You know what happens when you do this. Sparks and a blown fuse.

I must take this time to send out a huge THANK YOU to my buddy Joey. Joey came over, took me to get a new fuse, a new battery, and stayed till about 10:00pm to install all new parts and try to get the windows up. Well everything is working but the windows.

So my week is off to a great one, what about yours?

Friday 5

Got this idea from my friend and fellow blogger Jay Hardwick (check out his blog on the bottom left under Blogs I read section).

1. Its off day and I am taking advantage of it. Read a great article yesterday on 8 simple ways to avoid burnout in ministry. One of those talked about taking time for yourself. So that's what today is about. Gonna play a little Tiger Woods Golf and watch the tube.

2. This weekend I will be alone. Erin is going to visit her mom and dad for her sisters birthday. That means its me, duke, and banks hanging out for the weekend. I am sure I will watch some bball in there every now and then.

3. Its Critter Cook time. Tonight and tomorrow will be full of fun with the Critter Cook. This year I will be contributing to the dinner as I will be taking some Black Fin Tuna and some Dolphin. I look forward to letting you know all the interesting things I eat this weekend.

4. With Erin gone this weekend I am going to begin reading The Leadership Serects of Billy Graham. I will share some thoughts with you early next week.

5. I am going to eat Hot Dogs sometime this weekend. You have to understand that Erin hates hot dogs and the word hate really does not describe how bad she does not like them. So one of my meals this weekend will be hot dogs.

Until then....

Sorry

I have some really good news and some not so good news. The best news is that the doctors appointment yesterday went perfect. We went in, they listened to the heartbeat (which is the coolest thing in the world), and then we were out of there. The not so good news is that we dont have any pictures to post. They told us that they are not going to do another ultrasound until May. That ultrasound will tell us the sex of the baby.

Thanks for all the prayers and support. Sorry no pictures. I will keep you posted on whats going on.

Look for the Friday 5 coming tomorrow.

Two Times Tuesday

We are back from our trip and back in the swing of things. I thought I would give you the two best things from last week and the two wrost things.

We shall start with the worst.

1. The Daytona 500. Only thing good about the 500 was that Dale Jr. finished ahead of Gordon, Johnson, and several others. The bad thing was that Robby Gordon finished ahead of him. That still was not the wrost thing. The wrost thing about the 500 was that a dodge won, followed by another dodge, and then two toyotas. To top it off there were no big wrecks and the finish was boring.

2. Duke lost. In one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. Granted there are no excuses when you lose, this game was dictated by the officals. All 5 of the Duke starters fouled out with only one of the Wake Forest players fouled out. Yep, I said Wake Forest. One of the wrost teams in the ACC beat Duke Sunday night. Oh, well guess its better to lose now then to lose later in the tournament.

The Best

1. I got to spend several days away fromt the computer, email, and internet, and I got to spend that time with my beautiful pregnet wife. We went up to Pigeon Forge TN and had a great time. Thursay we went out to the Black Bear Jambree and then to the Comedy Barn. I will post a video tomorrow of one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Friday was spent shopping for Erin and the baby. We got some pretty cool things.

2. I got to spend time with my wife. But I just said that right. Right. There are not many times throughout the year that we are able to be away by ourselves. The ministry can be stessful and tiring and I am greatful that I work at a church that values the family, and allows us to take time to get away with our wives.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have a funny video up and some new pictures of the baby.

PS- I apologize for any mispelled words (if there are any), the spell check is currently down.

The Week that Was and IS to come

Last week was a pretty good week minus the fact that I was sick for most of the week. The highlight came on Wednesday night when the Blue Devils went about 8 miles down the road and beat UNC on thier home floor. They then followed that up with a win Saturday. This young team is starting to figure this whole thing out and hopefully will carry it over to tourny time.

Thanks to the Jonakins who had us over for dinner on Friday night. Its always good to get to know people a little better. What a wonderful family. Thanks again guys.

Saturday we went shopping for Erin to get some clothes. The trip did not go as planned. It seems that Erin is in the inbetween stages right now and nothing fits right. However, we did find some great deals at Steve and Barrys. Everything was $8.98. I mean everything. It was great.

Now for the week ahead. We will be going to the couples retreat on Thursday-Saturday. We are looking forward to this being a great time to get away for a couple of days and relax.

Until then.......

Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that Erin and I are doing great. I was at a retreat last weekend and then have been sick this week.

We go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks for a routine check up. Pray that everything is still great.

Erin and I just wanted to take this time and thank everybody for all your words of congrats and encouragement. Whether through myspace, facebook, or just seeing us around each one of you have been such a blessing to us.

We look forward going through this wonderful journey together.
